I have NIS installed on my PC and Laptop. I am trying to use the free NIS (not NIS lite) on my HTC Desire mobile. It says I can't access the Play store with my Gmail account and is telling me I need to use my BT internet account - how do I switch email accounts as my signature account?

Hi rjg7070.
Welcome to the Community, we will do our best to help you.
I am slightly puzzled by your post so will try for some clarification.
The way that your PC and Laptop work and therefore the threats to them are somewhat different from an Android based mobile device. Therefore the protection needs to be a bit different. Consequently there is no Norton Internet Security (NIS) for Android phones. The Norton product to protect these is Norton Mobile Security (NMS) or Norton Antivirus and Security (the same product) as it is currently called on Google Play. I assume that what you are trying to get it NMS. There is a free version on Google Play, this is called the "Lite" version. It has less features and offers less protection than the full, paid version but gives users a chance to try the product.
The best way to get either the full or Lite version onto your phone is to connect the phone to the internet either by a data connection or preferably by WiFi, then to activate the Google Play app and input the search term Norton. This will soon lead you to the NMS app which can easily be downloaded and installed.
When you set up an Android phone you need to register it with an Gmail account and then the Google Play connection from the phone should be automatic. You comment about the BT internet account suggests to me that either you are trying to access Google play via your PC (which can be done but is probably not the easiest thing to do) or that you are trying to establish a data connection. If the information above has not helped you solve your problem could you please tell us how you are trying to access Google Play and where and how the request for you to use your BT account is coming up. Can you also confirm (or deny) that you have registered your phone with a gmail account and that you can normally access Google Play.
I hope this has helped. Please feel free to come back with any further questions.
Good luck.
This may be obvious but the reference to BTInternet would likely indicate the user is in the UK ... if it makes any difference.
Thanks Hugh.
I had noted that but I'm not sure yet how relevant it is. We shall see......
Kneejerk reaction for me having suffered BT POTS for years ....
Be assured Hugh we have now moved on...
Damp string to go with our tin cans now!
However I feel we may be digressing from rjg7070'd problem.
Come in rjg7070.
