Norton Online Backup: constantly problems with wrong available backup space

I have constantly problems with NOB, which are making this service nearly unusable:

Problem 1: I have 25GB subscription, but it shows me, that I have 40 GB.

I had some 5GB subscription, which expired in the past. Tech support was NOT ABLE to remove those from my available storage space. This is really not very usefull to see always more storage space, than you actually are subscribed for.

Problem 2 is much more serious: There seems to be really a bug with storage calculation. I have approx 10GB of data to backup, so my 25GB subscription should be more than enough. Today, NOB told me, that I have no longer any storage space. I've purged EVERY file and REMOVE my pc, but it still shows me, that I use 20.95 GB of 40.00 GB which is completely wrong.

I currently use 0.00 GB of 25.00 GB !

I already had this problem a few weeks ago. I have contacted online support and it used me hours, yes hours, until the tech support guys understood the problem I have! It then dured again more than a week until the engineering could solve this problem and I got my "lost" storage space back.

Now, again the same problem and I really have no intention to talk again hours to first level tech support to try to explain them this simple but very serious issue.

Sorry, but NOB is nearly unusable this way. My idea was to have a secure online storage for important data and not to spend hours with tech support every few weeks.

Hi Scott

To problem one:

in NOBU, it shows me, that I have 40GB space, but in fact, I only have a subscription for 25GB. I had 3x 5GB older subscription, which expired monthes ago. But they are also still counted but can not be used in NOBU. So I really only would have 25GB when I subscribe for 25GB and not a theoretical 40GB, which is wrong. Hope you understood now :)

To problem 2:

- no I don't use N360

- I don't use a second computer with NOBU

It seems to be really a bug, which occures every few weeks/month and "something" is eating up the available space. It's quite strange.

So if you could help me that the reset my account to 25GB and delete/remove every data on it, this would be fine, so that I can start using NOBU again.

I sent you a PM with my account data.

Thanks and regards

Renato

The space NOBU shows you is the space you have available. Right now after an older subscription expires you continue to keep the space. You can back up 40 GB of data if it says 40 GB of space available. This may change in the future but right now just consider it a freebie.

I'm trying to get a little better understanding of where we are with fixing these quota issues. I know that most of them have been resolved at this point but it's pretty clear we still have some outstanding issues. I'll see if I can understand a little better what happened and then have a bit more detail on a resolution.

I sent you a PM with some more detail.
