Norton opening in the background

Norton always opens in the background and i cant even move it too the foreground which is rly annoying since i always have opera or dc open or apps in general and having to minimize them just to get to norton is rly annoying especially when ur downloading something and it flags the file i dont even notice it, lucky for me i always scan the files so i notice it when i go and do that (question is: how do i make it so it comes to the front?)

has your Norton always opened in the background?
just Norton? or other programs open in the background?
have you tried machine Restart (not Shut down)?
have you tried Troubleshooting → Repair Norton?

Just had this SAME ISSUE on a remote machine (my Mother’s) – in answer to the question(s)

  • does Norton LiveUpdate & QuickScan run okay?
    – I believe so, but have to MINIMIZE EVERYTHING to get Norton in the foreground~!
  • has your Norton always opened in the background?
    just Norton? or other programs open in the background?
    have you tried machine Restart (not Shut down)?
    – Norton has always opened in the Foreground; No other programs are opening in the Background (to my knowledge) and YES- I have Restarted Twice and still have the issue if ‘anything’ else is open

I’ll get back to you on “Troubleshooting → Repair Norton?”

This is FRUSTRATING~!!

Updated: Troubleshooting/Repair Norton worked
– before that, even Sticky Notes stayed in the Foreground when only Norton and Sticky Notes were active…

REALLY not feeling good about the Norton install right now~

Maybe, run Remove & Reinstall to feel better about your Norton install.

Maybe, opt clean install Norton to feel better about your Norton install.
Remove only → scour File Explorer for remnants → pull fresh installer from your Norton account.

UPDATE: Norton is still FAILING MISERABLY for me – I ran a (simple) Smart Scan remotely but could not display the Advanced Issues..

Note that I was running this Remotely – there is NO QUESTION I had a good Internet connection~!

Again, I ran NRnR – I was not allowed to choose Remove and Reinstall .. I was prompted that I ‘must’ manually install it. SO - I removed, rebooted, ran Remove AGAIN to sooth my nerves and rebooted again, reinstalled using ‘fresh’ download from my Account, then ran a Smart Scan (Simple) and had THE SAME ERROR~!!

Checked firewall settings etc: nothing obvious locally OR on the Modem/Router
I am getting SO fed up with the ‘glitches’ that challenge my devotion to Trusting the service I am paying for~

Norton support advised me NRnR is for v22 & Norton 360 Remover is for v24+
I’ve no documentation to confirm this.
