Norton Password Manager on my Android Phone

When I punch in my four-digit code to open the Norton Password Manager on my Android Phone, it does open, and I can tap on the suggested site and password to login into whatever it is that I’m logging into. However, I have been running into the same problem for years now, and no community members and no Norton agent can give me an answer to my problem. As you know, in settings, it has a place where it states lock, then you can pick in one minute or one hour or five hours or whatever the actual time length it has in there. It also allows you to pick never, which is why I have my Norton Password Manager on my phone set to Never Lock. Now, unless I’m a complete idiot, I interpret that as after I give it my four-digit PIN and login into the site I’m logging into, it should never lock. This means that if in 10 hours I use Norton Password Manager to log in to a different site, it shouldn’t be locked, or I shouldn’t have to give it my four-digit PIN again. Am I wrong about that? If I’m correct, why, when I have it set to Never Lock, do I keep on having to give it my four-digit PIN again and again?

The Auto-Lock settings apply to the current session of the Norton Password Manager, NPM, app. If you close the app and then open the app again you will have to log in again. If you leave the app running in the background, the vault will stay unlocked for the time you set in the Auto-Lock setting.

Dear peterweb. The Norton Password Manager phone app gives a choice of leaving it unlocked from one minute to never. I have the security Auto-lock set to never. However, whether I have it set to auto lock never or to 2 hours or never when I use my NPM app on my Android Phone to sign in to a site or app when I’m done in a minute with that sign in I go to sign into another app or website and I must give the NPM my 4 digit code again meaning it’s constantly locking all the time right away. What’s up with that?

If you are not closing the NPM app between those two interactions, I would suggest there may be something muddled with your NPM app. I would suggest uninstalling the NPM app, restart your device and then reinstall. Set up your Auto-Lock again and test.

I’ve done that before however I did not restart the phone before reinstalling the NPM app.
Thanks!

Dear peterweb, You’re the Greatest! That’s what did it restarting the phone before reinstalling the NPM app.
Thanks,
