Trying to set up the SONOS wireless music system. It is unable to connect due to a norton personal firewall. I have the updated norton antivirus 2012. What can I do to use this new music system.

Welcome,
Have you rebooted and why do you think that it's your Norton product that is the problem?
Thanks
That is what comes up when it says it can not connect. I have tried to go to the solution of going to the settings tab and clicking on smart firewall, but I do not have that tab under settings. Any other ideas?

Hi,
Have you looked in the history file to see what the message there is?
Hi sjp,
I assume you mean you have Norton Internet Security, rather than Norton Antivirus (which does not have a firewall) - or are you using the old Personal Firewall program? Open the Norton Network Security Map and make sure that the SONOS device (which will probably appear as a generic device) has a trust level of "Shared" or "Full Trust."
I'm having the same trouble. I had my sonos system setup on a windows xp computer with norton antivirus 2011 with no problems. I updated to the 2012 version of the norton antivirus (not internet security) last month. I just tried to open the sonos controller and am now unable to connect to either my bridge or zone players. I tried to resetup the sonos controller, and I'm getting the error message of issues with norton personal firewall message from sonos setup. If someone can explain what settings I need to adjust, I would be greatful for your help.
Thanks,
Nathan

Welcome Nathan,
To help us get a better understanding of your system can you tell us how you removed NIS before installing NAV? Also, what is the service pack installed on XP?
The wording of the error messages is also important.
Thanks
If you are using Norton Antivirus, what firewall are you using?
