Good grief, that Malwaretips thread is four years old.  I suggest that anyone wanting to learn about Sandboxie go here:

Good luck,

Dark Divide

Hi everyone. I'm back, and looking to keep this thread going for awhile to look into the nuances and layers of this interesting case this has turned into one hell of a rabbit hole. Check out these two articles: https://malwaretips.com/threads/sandboxie-should-be-avoided-in-2019-and-above.93426/ https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/windows-os-platform-blog/windows-sandbox/ba-p/301849 MalwareTips.com can't over emphasize enough Sandboxie messing with others software code causing immense problems. Reactions? Thoughts?

The BiniSoft is Malwarebytes Firewall Control, and I like it, as I can block most or all outgoing connections which the person on Harden Windows 11 Security advised. Also, the Sandboxie tool is awesome. Question, does using an app or software program in a sandbox make it similar to iOS where each app or program is sandboxed? I'm into tech, but I still have a lot to learn. *off-topic, but feels important*: Also, is anyone here in the Omaha, NE area who would like to socialize regarding tech and even start projects together? Im 31 live with two roommates who are from the older generations, and feel too alienated and isolated from humans, particularly people with similar interests. If nothing else, does anyone have any suggestions as to specific websites or apps to find people locally with similar interests to socialize?

Indeed. A safe>hacking rating has pie on the face written all over it. Norton may return a different set of info once the pending dispute is resolved.

I find this listing within the site as having links to questionable software. I have highlighted the ones that I consider safe to use per my experience with them. Snake oil is always snake oil:

Things you need downloaded beforehand.

IMPORTANT: Check the SHA hash and the Digital Signatures of files you download, if provided. If you are under attack, the attacker can perform a man-in-the-middle and modify your downloading and send you installers bundled with Rootkits to maintain their presence. I use Powershell > Get-FileHash <YourFileName>

You can get the OFFICIAL download of SysInternals here at Microsoft which has all the components in one download. I would trust this first.

NIST also offers some guidance as well, most of it is also applicable to Windows 11 Pro versions as well as domain joined / enterprises:

Oh, great! /*sarcasm*/

I already downloaded most of the software from that list. Are any on their list sketcky apps/software?

I didn't purchase any of the configuration packs though.

This seems contradictory. How on earth is the 'Hacking' category ever marked as safe? Is this hacking in the sense of bypassing standard methods to change your Windows PC? Sort of like the same context as a "life hack"?

I don't know if it is a false positive. Thats what I'm trying to figure out.

All: Reading some the "contents" of the quote "service packs" links offered is concerning for me at least. First and importantly, there never have been nor are there "service packs" for Window 10 nor 11. There are also tons of links for "freeware" within those links. Personally freeware is never the way to "harden" an OS. The OP may find there are article having good information. My finding personally is there are more risks associated with the site link in general, misleading content which is a general overall risk to visitors. From where I sit of course.

Edited: If one wishes to harden their OS I would begin with things legitimate and passively risk free such as this article:

Dispute is already in progress.

Possibly something to do with the downloadable security packs offered at that site.
