may be because Norton Safe Search Enhanced - Chrome store here was last updated June 2023
I may have spoken too soon as I am now seeing that Norton Safe Search Enhanced is staying on. I didn’t make any changes, but it is now staying on and showing a green checkmark on the toolbar. .
