I am using the Norton Safe Search extension in both Chrome and Norton Private Browser. Both now generate the following error when attempting to do any search:
nortonsafe.search.ask.com sent and invalid response. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR. The only way I can search now is to disable the extension. This happens in both Chrome and Norton Private Browser.
This occurred suddenly with no changes to my computer. I need help please!
Thanks,
John

BJM,
Thank you for pointing me in the direction of the router... it was indeed the cause of my problem. My TP Link Deco mesh network did an upgrade and its Malicious Content Filter now blocks nortonsafe.search.ask.com. I had to add this site to the allow list and now everything works as it did previous.
Note to other TP Link Deco users, if you update to the latest firmware and you have Malicious Content Filtering enabled, this will happen to you too.
Thanks,
John
