I've reseached via these forums and seen where you can put in metadata and get help with a manual verify of some sort (automatic does not see it).
I had two options... 1) to place code as a keyword or 2) to create a "custom" metatag call Nortonsw and put the code as content. NOTE: I can easily move the code as a keyword if that is preferred
I would like to have my sites verified. Please Help!
Safe Web has just introduced more flexibility for site owners. Properly formatted meta tags can now be used with the automated verification process. This should speed the process for you.
Use your site building program to create a custom meta tag with the exact name norton-safeweb-site-verification and the content to include your full 128 character code.
Once that is complete, Save / Publish your home page.
Now, log back into Norton Safe Web > My Profile > Site Dispute and you should see the name of your website and three options listed under Action.
Click on "verify site ownership”.
A reminder message may pop up asking you to confirm that you have placed the authentication file in your Root Folder or placed the meta tag. Click OK.
You should then see "ownership verified" under "Status"
If you still are unable to verify ownership, let me know and we'll try to get your site(s) verified manually by the Safe Web team.
Quick Bonus question--will probably make me look like an idot...overthinking it...
Does leaving 'subscribe to rating change' on the screen mean you'll get the notice or do you have to click that (in essence, making it unsubscribe to rating change')?
Bottom line: what should the text be left saying...
