I was helping someone tonight that has Norton. Two of their website just stopped working. It was their banking website and gmail. com. The banking site, you’d go there and when you tried to login it would just spin then time out eventually. The gmail site would also just time out. I also could not get to the website to login to the router. It did this in firefox, chrome and edge.
After much troubleshooting and googling, I came across safeweb. They had no safeweb browser extension but I went into settings, safeweb in the Norton app and disabled and then the sites worked. I then added exceptions for each site. For gmail, I had to add gmail. com and accounts. google. com for it to work. The banking site I had to add the main url and then another url I saw it trying to access after login. Is this normal? Why wouldn’t Norton give some kind of clue that the site is being blocked instead of just timing out. If they had the browser extension installed, would that be more apparent?
