Thought I would post my own reply - problem solved. After e-mails to customer service & tech support under different problem titles, someone from customer service e-mailed me with a link. Had to choose another program because support did not include Norton Save & Restore as a selection.

I had almost the same problem.

I downloaded a 30 day trial version of Save and Restore 2.0 to try it out. After having installed the product and created a backup of my system disk I re-installed my OS and Save and Restore 2.0. I started the recovery and was prompted with a dialog telling me to reboot my computer with the Recovery Disk in the cd-drive. The problem is that I don't have such a disk since I only downloaded a install file for the Save and Restore 2.0 trial version.

I contacted support about this toda and they promised me to send me a link to the ISO of the Recovery Disk so I could burn it and restore my computer.

They only sent me a link to the same 30 day trial version I already have, not the ISO.

I'm going to contact them again tomorrow to see if they can get it right this time.

Today I contacted their chat support again and I got to admit that they really try to help you. They immediately gave me a link to the iso file. I’m downloading it right now. Tonight, when I get home, I’ll try it out. Hopefully it’ll help me restore my computer.
