Keep getting pop-ups on my iphone telling me that my home WIFI is not secure/that it's been compromised. I have multiple devices connected to my home WIFI Network with a router provided by my internet provider. It is password protected and secure (up to this point). I am getting notifications from Norton off and on throughout the day that "VPN has turned on because XXXX WIFI network has been compromised". The notifications only appear on my iphone but not the other devices. When I check the Norton dashboard - most of the time it says WIFI is secure, but occasionally says that it was compromised. This has been going on now for about a week or so. I've also reviewed the security report for my internet provider and it says my WIFI is secure. I tried removing the Norton App for the phone and reinstalling it thinking it was a glitch in the app. That did not solve the problem, so I am wondering if my home WIFI Network really has been compromised? How can I tell? How can I clear up this issue?
Nota Techi:Hello,
I am the original person who created this thread. My issue has been resolved for several weeks now. I followed PeterWeb's instructions from 3/24 on reporting the issue. Apparently after than Norton implemented a fix. I waited a few weeks longer to make sure it was resolved and I have not had any issues since. Please let me know if I should check the box indicating that the issue in this tread has been resolved. It appears that other on the thread may still be experiencing the problem,
As the other poster seems to have resolved their issue, I would say it is good for you to mark this thread as solved.
I was confused because Vishal Srivastava said in the earlier post that version 5.58.1 would include the fix and the most recent IOS version is 2.58.0
Looks like there was some confusion between the iOS version number and the Android version number.
Good news that your issue is resolved.
The screenshots were taken at different times with different active settings
It does appear that the fix has been installed on my IOS devices and the VPN is working properly again. I’ve switched the VPN auto connect back on and my home network is recognized as secure and VPN didn’t turn on. Ad web links are working again too. Thanks to everyone who helped identify the issue and provided the fix.
WMo:I am still receiving the suspicious network messages on my iPad and iPhone, despite following the 2nd level support instructions. Home WiFi is secure (I checked with the provider) but Norton360 keeps turning on the VPN, although I’ve selected Auto connect. If I turn off Auto connect, I get the message attached. In addition, the VPN is blocking some app use and web links that are not compromised.
Revisiting this post. Looking at your images, the Wifi Security screen shows that the connection is protected by VPN. The VPN page does not show the VPN active, and the Auto Connect is off. Were these screenshots taken at the same time?
Have you tried reinstalling 360 to ensure that all app data has been removed? Uninstall 360, then restart your phone, and then reinstall 360 and test.

Any update on the fix? The App Store says the most recent version for iPad and iPhone is 2.58.0.
The fix is getting replicated fast. We also have an interim hotfix release expected shortly. Norton 360 5.58.1 will be available for update. Please ignore the current alert until 5.58.1 update availability.

Hi,
Thank you for reporting this behaviour. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. This issue has been resolved now. Please let us know if you're continuing to see this issue. Thank you.
There is no settings option when I click the three bars in the Norton360 app on my iPad.
Sorry. My bad. Those instructions are for Android devices. Your checking the app store is all you can do on iOS devices.
See Gayathri_R's post above yours for information on helping to diagnose this issue.
There is no settings option when I click the three bars in the Norton360 app on my iPad. The app is up to date based on the App Store information.
I talked to a 2nd level support person who told me to cycle the router and the iPad and it would definitely correct the problem. Unfortunately, it did nothing. My home wifi is secure.
Hi,
Thank you reporting this issue.
To investigate further, we would like further details from customers who are seeing issue. If you are continuing to experience this issue, could you please follow the below steps?
1. Open phone browser in incognito mode. Go to https://mobilesecuritycore-detection.norton.com/ , If you are getting ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID the follow step 2
2. Once CERT error is reproducible, Install network analyser app on phone. In this app, Tools--Ping. Ping mobilesecuritycore-detection.norton.com` to get the IP address of servers (could be multiple IP addresses).
Please share the IP addresses in this thread. This will help us investigate further. Thank you for your help.
There is a similar issue that Norton has identified and fixed. Go into your 360 app and tap the three bars at the top left and tap on Settings > General and tap on the link to run LiveUpdate. That should bring in any update that might fix this. If you do not get any updates, just keep trying as it can take a little time to get the update to all the update servers.
When it first appreared I believe there was something about an intrusion. Since then it only says it was compromised. I have enabled the Debug log and will send the error report when it happens. Interestingly, after I posted on this forum the issue hasn't come up. So for the last two or three days it hasn't happened, whereas it was constant multiple times per day every day for at least a week.
Appreciate your help...stay tuned.
Is there any other information after Network is compromised? There are a couple of other threads recently with similar messages. They have been reported to Norton. This sounds like a false positive.
Please send logs to Norton to help diagnose your problem.
Start by opening iOS settings on your device and scroll down to the bottom where the apps are listed. Tap on the Norton 360 app and tap to Enable Debug Log.
Now use your device until it causes the issue you are having. Then open the 360 app and tap on the three bars at the top left, then tap Help. Tap on Send Error Report and fill in any information requested. In your submission, please include "forum 'your username' " in the Case ID section of the report. Also include a link to this thread.
If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.
