I had all sorts of great advice until I realized I don't even know what product you have or what system you are using it on.  These are things any of us need to help you.

So:

1.  Which Norton Product are you talking about?  NIS, NAV, 360, SystemWorks, ...

2.  If you didn't tell us this in 1, then tell us now: what version are you using?  You can find this out by clicking on the main menu bar "help", then clicking on about.

3.  What operating system are you using?  Windows XP?  Windows Vista?

4.  What service pack of your operating system?  SP1?  SP2? ...

This will help us get started.  Then we will probably have a lot more questions.  :smileyhappy:

Hi I am using

Norton INternet Security

I can't get into it now to give you the version but I just bought the computer two days ago at Sams club, it has Windows Vista Home Premium on it and has a HP heath checker that says the virus program is running but when I click open it won't open, if I right click on a file to scan it, I see Norton but then it has the black arrow and I put my mouse over and a box with nothing comes up, I just can't seem to get to Norton, the only time I did was when I set up the computer and it connected and asked my email information.

Also Service Pack one, thanks

and Norton is a 60 day trial

If HP has a online help for new systems, I would suggest you try there first.  You have a bundled version of Norton Internet Security that the OEM (HP) has included with the system.  Any suggestions we would have you do involving a reinstall would undo the 60 day trial and could leave you with little or no time on a subscription; trial or otherwise.  See what HP suggests first then come back if they can not help you.  Oh, and have you checked your email after you entered it in the screen?

Looks like a java problem. is your java up to date?

What have you tried to resolve this?
