Norton Secure VPN blocking websites

Just in the last couple of days, Norton VPN has started blocking websites like Amazon, AAA, Bing, etc.  If I turn off the VPN, I can reach them with no problem.  I don't think Norton has installed an upgrade, but it hasn't told me to reboot.  What gives and how do I fix it?

Good to hear yours sorted itself. Will wait for the next update from both Norton and Amazon and see what happens. (And cheers re Marvin!)

No ad blocker installed (apart from the Ad Tracking Blocker in the Norton app which they did get me to turn off but made no difference)
Strange that it started happening on both my iPhone and iPad after an app update but haven’t come across anyone else having this problem.

Also had this problem whilst using the Amazon app and it blocking the ‘Other sellers on Amazon’ pop up so left a review mentioning it. Received an e-mail saying they hadn’t heard of this problem before and to get in touch. Over an hour with live support and got told I had to switch off the VPN to get the Amazon app to work (Which is what I had already been doing and had told them as such in my review!)

Your issue sounds different as you were already turning off the VPN. Do you have an ad blocker app/extension installed on your device? That can block redirects such as what may be used on the Amazon as you mention pop ups. If you do use an ad blocker, try allowing Amazon sites in the settings for the ad blocker.

I suspect I had a bad product update.  The problem mysteriously resolved itself after a day or two.  I apologize for not posting such.

PS - love your Marvin the Martian avatar.

Many web sites do not allow access from known VPN IP addresses. They do this for copyright, legal, security, and political reasons. There is nothing a VPN provider can or should do to circumvent these legal protections. See this How to Geeks article.   https://www.howtogeek.com/403771/why-do-some-websites-block-vpns/

So the changes you are seeing are not related to the VPN service. The sites you used to be able to view seem to have changed their access to users with VPN active. Check with the sites support to see if this is what has happened.

Do you run Norton 360 Secure VPN?
Do you run standalone Norton Secure VPN?
