Hey @@Krusty13 ,

I'm checking with the product team. Meanwhile, could you share a screenshot please?

Oh, and there is nothing to screenshot on Windows.  I just get / got Norton account two-factor authentication texts after running Smart Scan.

Hi @Gayathri_R,

I know this is not helpful at all, but as I cannot gather logs, this is all I can do.

Clean install of N360, updated and restarted until no more update were available.  It took three restart cycles.

After N360 had settled down I restarted one more time.  BSOD.  Windows started, then after a few minutes I tried another restart.  As always of late, after the login screen Windows stalled at the Welcome screen.

I've restored my latest image before Norton, so even if I could get into Windows, which I couldn't, I can't even send you the dump file.

I'm at my wits end.  My machines cannot run Norton for some reason, and I have no idea why.

Thanks,
Dave

I think my machines are allergic to Norton.  Just restarted my machine that has a fresh install of Norton, no PrivaZer involved here, just a reboot and Windows will not load past Welcome.

How am I to gather logs?

I'm sorry @Gayathri_R,

I don't know how I can reproduce this issue with PrivaZer and gather logs if I cannot boot back into Windows.

Hi @Gayathri_R,

It seems to be 100 % reproducible, but I can't imagine how I'd get useful logs.  If I run PrivaZer, then reboot, the machine will not load.  Happened on two Win 10 machines, every time I've tried.

Hi,

When I sent your thread to the team, they requested MAT logs.

NortonMAT:

1.     Download the Norton Multipurpose Agent Tool tool from www.norton.com/nortonmat and save it on the desktop, open a CMD window as admin and drag the tool and run with '-agent' switch. Or double click the icon to open.

2.     On the Welcome to Norton Multipurpose Agent Tool window, select the language and click I accept the EULA.

3.     On the main screen, click Tools > Collect data for a support case.

4.     In the Select Products tab, select the product for which you want to collect data for.

5.     In the Select Data Type tab, under Data Type, select Limited data for Support.

6.     Under Debug Logging, select the installed product and click Next.

7.     In the Reproduce Your Issue tab, click Next.

Reproduce the issue, and collect the logs.

8.     In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes.

The MAT tool starts collecting the logs.

9.     In the Save tab, type your forum username and the issue abstract, and click Save.

10.  Type ‘1234567’ for the Case number and click Upload.

11.  The estimated time for the file upload is displayed. Please note that it might take a while.

12.  After the file is uploaded, the file location is displayed in the next window. If the location isn't displayed, please search for a file with .sdbz extension.

13.  Compress this file and upload under Log Files in the forum thread.

14.  Once the logs are collected, click Tools, and select Disable Norton Logging.

Hi @Gayathri_R,

Unfortunately, I have had to uninstall Norton for now as I'm trying to sort out another problem or three with my machines.

One of those problems is that when I run PrivaZer while Norton is installed, next reboot Windows doesn't load after the sign in screen.  It just seems to stall at the welcome screen.  This happened on two machines while Norton is installed, but does not happen without Norton.

I think I did boot into Safe Mode once, but couldn't get back into Windows.

There are a few other things I'm trying to sort out as well, so unfortunately, I can't grab requested screenshot, nor gather logs.

Thanks for your understanding.

Dave

Hey @@Krusty13 ,

Yes, two-factor-authentication code.

Krusty13:

I don't normally run Smart Scan, but I've just clean installed Norton on this machine and if I manually run Smart Scan I get a Norton Security Code text message each time.  Is this to be expected?  It's kind of annoying.

as test: ran Smart Scan.  No "code".

What's a Norton Security Code?   Are you referring to Norton two-factor-authentication code?

Any chance of getting a new license, @Gayathri_R?  I have PMed you.
