Norton Security for MAC

Dear,

I have a MacMini running OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.4.  I used to have Kaspersky to protect the system but I decided to move back to Norton Security R7.0.1 (build 26).  Unfortunately, after some moments of happiness, Norton Security started to show the message of ERROR when updating the virus definitions (Update ERROR occurred) / "system under risk".  Some WA were applied such as reinstalling the Virus definitions manually or even reinstalling the whole product.  After some days the error started again and the recommended action to press the ˜FIX" button NEVER works.  Is there any special configuration required to use this product on a MAC?  It is a shame that a secure system works like that.

Please let me know how to proceed.

Many thanks,

Marcelo

Hello

Before you installed your Norton product, did you use the Kaspersky removal tool for Macs? I don't know if there is a separate one than for windows pc's.

I am going to request that this thread be moved to the Mac Forum where the thread will get more visibility.

Thanks.

Hi

In fact I did it twice.  Both ways.  I will try your recommendation.

Thank you for your support.

Marcelo

Hi MarceloGM,

When you say you removed and reinstall Norton. What removal process you performed ?. Is it the Uninstaller itself? , Drag and dropped to trash or you used the Removal Utility from Symantec ? .

You can try this link.

 https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/kb20080427024142EN_EndUserProfile_en_us

Then Run Disk Utility after. Then reinstall

See if that helps.
