Norton Security NSBU.EXE process using 80% cpu utilization on windows xp when connected using remote desktop connection

The nsbu.exe process created by Norton Security with Backup software uses changing 1%-12% utilization when a user connects to the workstation directly and 77%-87% consistently when microsoft remote desktop is used to connect from  another computer to one of these computers. This is occurring on multiple computers with current service packs and sufficient memory and processor rescource. This is a problem with the current versions of the security system. Norton antivirus 2013 installed on some of the computers at the same site does not exhibit the same problem. I have watched two Norton security support techs attach to one of the computers, uninstall, reinstall, stop processes, etc. without solving the problem.  The problem has been escalated by both techs and a response of 72 hours promised by both, however no response has been received from Norton. Neither of the Norton techs were aware of the problem as detailed in this site in December 2015. I do not believe Norton monitors or responds to these threads. Has anyone received from Norton a fix for the problem or even a response?
