<< I eventually did this with the help of my provider; BT Yahoo. >>
I take it from this that you are using a branded version of Norton software provided by BT? And that you are in the UK?
Yes I am in the UK & I am using the Norton that is supplied with the broadband package. It is ‘Norton Security Online Provided by BT Yahoo! Online Protection’, well that’s what it says on the top of the interface. The interface looks like Norton 2007, but I am not actually sure what type it is.
I’m not sure if we can be of any help here with that product but I’ve flagged your message for a Norton Staffer – names in red – to look at since they will know.
Thanks. I get the same pop up when I click on ‘Technical Support’ (which should take me to BT Yahoo) & ‘General Security Information’ (which should take me to Symantec).
As I said, the BT Yahoo versions are custom items and us ordinary users may have no knowledge of how they behave, or should behave! It’s hard enough keeping up with the normal retail versions we use ourselves!
I am working on trying to get a screenprint uploaded of the ‘offending’ pop up.
I would just like to say that the problem is now solved & it seems to be working fine.
