As I recall. I've not heard IOBit installs Norton. I believe you. Just not heard before.

Did you run the Norton removal tool from a Windows admin account? Not 'Run as Admin'.
No, I never had a Norton subs. nor did I opt for a trial.

Yes, I used remove only from the advanced option. Norton Security was found to have been removed and Windows defender active.
As was asked elsewhere, This is not a new computer, OS was installed a few months back. Only new application installed in the past week, when I saw Norton running, was IOBIT advanced System Care and Uninstaller.
Even if I had agreed to the installation optio of the bundled Norton without paying attention, I should be able to remove it. And that's what I would like to do once for all.
Did you ever have a Norton subscription? Is this a new computer that might have come with a Norton Trial version?
Um, did you run Norton Remove and Reinstall tool > Advanced Options > Remove Only ?
