Hello everyone!
In order to have 100% "web protection" on startup screen, "Norton Security Service" (under accessibility menu) must be enabled.
And I have enabled it. But everytime I reboot my phone, it gets disabled.
I noticed that this started when I rooted my phone.
Is there anyway to keep this option enabled after a reboot without removing root? IIRC, previous versions of Norton Mobile Security hadn't this issue...
Thank you for your help
Thanks for letting us know what you found.
Another example of unexpected results from rooting a device.
I've found out what was causing the problem.
It was an app called "Root booster".
This app can optimize the phone for stability, performance or battery saving. I had it in battery saving. This setting shuts down all non vital services, including Norton.
Thank you for your support peterweb
Hi peterweb,
It was a good guess, but unfortunately the "permanently part" only applies to the disabled services.
It was a good idea though. I will look for an app that forces a service to load at boot.
I have a possible work around until Norton is able to test further.
Try an app called [root] Servicely.
Looking at the app description on the Google Play Store, it may help with this issue.
You can also disable/enable permanently any service on your device.

Let us know how it goes.
Don't thank me yet. We have to wait to see if I get any response from my contacts.
I understand your question. I have several Xposed modules installed, and the phone needs to be rooted so they can be active.
I would appreciate that. Maybe I get lucky :)
Thank you for all your help peterweb.
Is there a reason you need to keep your phone rooted? Some operations, or installs may require it, but do you need to keep it rooted?
I can ask about the issue, but I'm sure the answer will just be that they do not support rooting.
I understand.
But I was hoping that there was a workaround for this.
Or if it is a way to report this situation to Symantec so they can take a look at it. Previous versions of Norton Mobile didn't had this issue.
But thank you peterweb. You were more helpful than a guy of the Norton Support chat. He said not to reboot my phone so often...
If you have rooted your phone, then there are no guarantees that any app will work as designed. Norton is not designed with rooting in mind so there are no settings for your situation.
