Norton Security Suite 5.1.0.29 Disk Optimization Error Win7 64Bit

Norton States: “Your PC requires disk optimization to improve performance”

I click: “Fix Now” and it instantly states “Scan Request Complete”

Under the “Activities” bar it does not show my “C:” Drive

Only shows “Drive B: Other error” (my second hard drive is “B:”, Primary boot drive is “C:”)

Also, The “Diagnostic Report” states: “Your system’s CPU is slow” “You might consider upgrading your CPU for better performance…”

My CPU is a Quad-Core i7-930 with a massive Prolimatech Megahalens Heat Sink and 2 GELID Solutions FN-PX12-15 120mm CPU Heat Sink Fans in a push-pull setup. This is a gaming PC and the only thing slow about it is the 7,000 rpm hard drives.

The B drive is a standard slave (Western Digital 1TB) used for back-ups, and all documents, pictures, etc... No Programs.

So you're suggesting that Norton may be following the old A & B drive rules?

And that simply changing drive B to anything other than A or B may solve my problem?

(I have a sudden desire to unearth my old 5.25 Floppies . . . from back when floppies were . . .well . . "floppy")

Update:

Changed Drive B to E whcih had no effect. Disk Optimization still does nothing and still states: "Drive B: Other Error" even though there is no drive B anymore.

Contacted Norton Tech support who ended up deleting and reinstalling Norton. This appeared to solve the problem as it no longer had the red exclamation point and "Fix It" button, but when I clicked "Disk Optimization" it still does nothing = Does not show C drive and still states: "Drive B: Other Error". Which leaves me with an unresolved tech issue.

As long as I don't see the red exclamation point, it doesn't really bother me since I wouldn't normally use Norton for Disk Defragmenting anyway.

As for the “Diagnostic Report” stating: “Your system’s CPU is slow”, reinstalling Norton changed nothing.

FWIW my "Windows Experience Index" ratings (on a scale of 1.0 to 7.9) are:
Processor = 7.5
RAM = 7.8
Graphics = 7.7
Gaming Graphics = 7.7
Primary hard disk = 5.9
