Let me start from the beginning, my old Norton Security Suite was messing up, It wouldn't do anything and It wouldn't open. I decided to uninstall it with the uninstall program, then I went to Comcast's site and redownloaded it. That one lasted roughly 4 hours, until that one crashed while I was looking at the "performance". I then went and uninstalled that one too and reinstalled it. For some reason, this one lacks a Norton desktop icon. Is there something wrong with my computer or something? The icon on the notifcation bar is still there, but the ones for the desktop and the taskbar aren't. I did a full scan and didn't find any malware either. Does anyone know what caused all of this?
Iam using Norton360 what I have read is that the icon is not there for security reason I also have a problem with some dimmer programs with no avail
Hi,
Jiaro is correct. The latest Norton products no longer have desktop icons by default.
Regards
Hello jibaro.
The gadget is no longer there as Microsoft are discouraging their use, as the gadgets apparently presented a potential insecurity.
There should still be a notification area icon and you can always create an N360 shortcut on your desktop.
Does that help?
