After Norton has been recently updated, I am unable to connect my Tablet (Samsung S7+) to my laptop as a second screen through “Cast” or “Wired Display” (options in the bottom of the taskbar).
If I turn off my Norton Smart Firewall, then only I can connect my tablet to my laptop. But that would compromise my system security, and I don’t want that.
My Wifi Network is already set to “Private” Network trust level.
Also, my Norton “Automatic Network Control” is set to “Windows Settings Mode”
Kindly assist. Thank you.
I’ve reached out to Norton several times with the same problem. Norton support doesn’t help. I wonder if they actually read any of the posts from the community because we’re not the only ones with this problem. The best solution is turning off the Norton firewall while trying to connect. It seems to work but it does leave your PC vulnerable and that defeats the purpose of using Norton.
Thank you @Walter_Arsenault for replying. I am using this method only.
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your troubles. I had this problem for over a month. I just wanted to share directly my screen with the windows second screen display with a tablet (S7+ Samsung).i wanted to share with you a little discovery i made with the advanced settings :
In security–> advanced–>network–> Auto-Protect and Firewall–> complementary settings–> exceptions for public network (sorry if this is not the correct words for each steps, my norton is in french (french canadien)
You can find there traffic IGMP. After many research i found out that is link to the port of display/second screen (by putting that traffic rule in the report made by norton (you can change that too in the settings))
By turning it on for public AND private, rebooting the laptop, it seems to have fix the problem. Hope it will do the same for you.

Yes, exactly.
1.“Allow IGMP traffic” to green for Public networks AND Private networks
2. Reboot laptop
3. Try connecting your wireless display.
It should work.
