Hello, I use Norton SystemWorks 2003 on some older computers (which still run on Win98)...
My last sucessfull NortonAntivirus update was on 4'th of May 2010 with the file of: 20100504-004-i32.exe
My next update was on 17'th of May 2010 with the file of: 20100517-002-i32.exe
But with this update file (20100517-002-i32.exe) Norton Antivirus 2003 canNOT perform a scan!
Example: when I rightclick to scan ANY file (or folder) on hard disk, Norton Antivirus 2003 pops up and raports an internal error.
But if I open this file on my hard disk:
Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\definfo.dat
and change the line back to the:
CurDefs=20100504.004
Then My Norton Antivirus 2003 is re-enabled and CAN perform a AntiVirus scan (with an earlier definition set)
So I wonder what can I do in order to update NEW antivirus definition, but NOT to "render" NSW2003 unusuable?
Or, what OTHER Symantec product could perhaps recommend, but to run on computers with 64MB or 128MB of RAM memory (486/PentiumI processors on Win95/98/98se?)
Best regards
Brana
