Norton Systemworks, Discontinued?

Hello.

I loves Norton Systemworks, especially the feature of UnErase Wizard on it.

On 2010 symantec products line, why NSW discontinued?

Any reason of this one?

For Symantec's staff, can you please add UnErase Wizard feature into NIS 2010 or maybe the next NIS 2011?

Its really usefull when i accidentally deleted my important files.

Thank you.

Big regards.

Hi AllenM

So sad hearing what you've said. :(

That UnErase Wizard is really nice for me.

I already tried NU v14.5

And i already bought NU license, even i'm not yet try it, but i buy it first.

Hoping that the UnErase Wizards included on the new NU.

But then after i installed it, i'm very very disappointed.

No UnErase Wizards.

And the other tools on NU is not really catch my need.

But fortunately, my NU license still safe, not yet activated.

I use NU as a trial 30 days.

I'm still waiting any explanation from symantec staff, especially the NSW team.

Why NSW discontinued?

And whats the reason of it?

Hi Raditzdj,

I can only presume there was not enough customer demand for continuation of NSW, but I don't pretend to know all their reasons behind it.

Sorry I could not give you better news.

Hello AllenM.

I see know. Well.. it might be the best reason of it.

Thats okay.

I'm just hoping that NU team included UnErase Wizards on the next build of NU. :(

Hi Raditzdj,

I have one suggestion for you. How about posting a new thread but with a more obvious title? Say something like Norton Utilities Enhancement Request or Can Norton Utilities be Updated to include UnErase Wizard?

Obviously I can't promise anything but if your title is obvious that you are making an enhancement request for NU to add a new feature and enough other people agree with you and respond in support, then Symantec might well consider that in a future update.

Hi AllenM

Well..

thats a great idea

but it seems that no other member here beside us that complain about NSW

so, maybe that idea won't work

but thanks anyway :)

Hi Raditzdj,

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people on the forums who are former NSW fans and some who still are and are clinging on to an older version of NSW. That is until an upgrade to Windows 7 pretty much forces them to uninstall NSW once and for all.

So you never know. :smileywink:

Take Care

Hi

I miss system works 12 standard.I should say that I am still using my system works and will miss not having a System Works 13. My subscription is ending in a few days. I have bought another boxed versioin of it and plan on entering the new key so that I can continue to use it when my current sub runs out.  You can buy a new key for it if your current sub is almost up.

Hi Floplot,

I had looked up previous posts and Raditzdj also has NIS 2010 which would negate the need to renew subscription for NSW.

There are a couple of thing in NSW I wish Symantec would consider adding to NU, and Raditzdj I know would like to see Unerase wizard. If enough people ask for it perhaps Symantec will add them to NU? :smileywink:

Hi floplot

Yes, just like Allen said above. I'm not going to extend my NSW subscription, because now i already used NIS 2010. I just wondering why that NSW discontinued. And its just like what Allen said.

Hoping UnErase Wizard will be added to the next build of NU :)
