My child has been exceeding their time limit. The time they are using the device does not seem to be monitored or controlled by the Norton Family app. The daily time usage shown within Android is 4h 25m. When I view the time usage within the Norton app on same phone it says 3 minutes have been used. (Screenshots attached).
I have checked that all the Norton app permissions are enabled. Battery optimisation is off. Draw over apps is on, and I have refreshed the rules with child's app.
The time I spent checking the settings appears to have counted towards their allowance, but not when they are using it. So they are finding a way around somehow???
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to Norton Family Forum.
One of the reasons why this might happen is because the usage calculation logic of your manufacturer might differ from that of Norton Family. The data shown to you by the device OS might include the launcher app, dialler app and other system apps which we do not include as part of our device usage calculation.
Moreover, Norton only includes the apps which are currently running in the foreground. Apps launched in background like Spotify or in smart pop-up mode or message bubbles do not contribute to the total usage.
We have also sent you a private message to get some more details to analyse the issue. Kindly check the same.
Regards,
Norton Family Team.
