Norton toolbar (and therefore identity safe) missing

I am running Windows 7, IE9, and all was fine yesterday - now my norton toolbar is gone, and is not in the tools menu.  Never had this problem before - please help!

I can log in to identity safe by opening norton 360, but that doesn't give me access to it all the time...

Hi Susan

Check if you are using the 64 bit version of the IE9. Press Alt + H->About IE->If it says 64bit then open 32 bit version by going to All Programs and open the IE not the IE64bit. Because The Norton Toolbar is not supported in the 64bit version of IE.

If the About option doesn't say 64 bit, then follow the instructions below.

Press Alt + T->Manage add-ons->check for add-ons with name Norton Toolbar, Symantec NCO BHO, Symantec Intrusion Prevention->If they are disabled then enable them

If they are already enabled : Press Alt + T->Internet options-> Advanced->Put a check mark next to Enable Third Party Extensions->OK

I cannot see NTB when I right-click in the grey space.

I cannot see the Norton Toolbar when I check View, Toolbars.  I checked Manage Addons, and don't see Norton or Symantec NCO BHO there either.

I do have the 64 bit version of IE9.

Hope that helps - thanks for helping me!

That's your problem.  NTB will not work with 64 bit IE9.  Even though you may be running a 64 bit system.

Follow Subash's instructions for using the 32 bit version - which is in fact the default version for Windows 7.

Yay!  Thanks so much!
