Norton toolbar causes ebay problem with Firefox

When I try to ask a seller a question on ebay, I have to enter a code displayed on the screen. The code is ALWAYS rejected when I use Firefox. It was happening in the previous version and still occurs in the newest version. I turned off all of the Firefox add-ins one by one until I found that Norton Toolbar is causing the problem.  Any solution?

Windows 7 64-bit

Norton Internet Security 2012

Norton Toobar 20012.5.2.5

Firefox 10.0.2

I'm having the same problem posting this with Internet Explorer!

can you plzs all so tell us what norton 2012 you have by going too about

you sould have norton 19.6.1.8

Hi,

Rejected in the sense?

Do you see that field autofilled automatically with any other characters by identity safe? If that's getting autofilled, it would be highlighted.

I see the same problem. It's been doing it for a while and I was blaming Ebay.

It's a Captcha code entry where you enter a 6 digit number that is shown in order to send a message, and every time it comes back and says it's invalid. (Sometimes after about 10 tries it would work).

I just went on Ebay and tried it again - 3 tries and it didn't work - turned off Norton toolbar and it worked !

I have latest version of NIS (19.6.1.8 ) and Firefox 10.0.2

I don't have any auto-fill function turned on.

Thanks Dave for confirming that others are having this problem as well.

Snowstorm, I am running 19.1.6.8.

Hi,

Can you please provide the URL(complete link) when such an incident occurs again, that would help us to get more info about this problem.

Regards,

Prasanna

Hi Prassana,

Cannot give you a URL for this.

First you need to be logged in to Ebay, and then go to an Ebay auction.

At the bottom of the auction page there is a link for "ask a question".

This takes you to the page we are having trouble with.

There is a box that says "please enter the verification code shown in the image".

It is a 6 digit number and every time it comes  back and says it was not correct.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for reporting the issue and thanks for the repro steps. The issue was reproducible and we are following it up with a bug.

Regards.

Prasanna
