Norton Toolbar text/icon size

I've just got a new Windows 7 computer and changed the default screen text size from small to medium (using "Personalize" on the desktop).

This works fine but for one thing...the size of the text and icons on the Norton Toolbar in Internet Explorer 8 stays the same (small) irrespective of what the Windows 7 screen text sixe is.

Is this a known issue or is it something to do with my setup I wonder?

I should say that the pc came apparently with Bing as the default search engine (its toolbar is immediately below the Norton toolbar), so I don't know if that has something to do with it. (It would be nice to change back to Norton as the default search engine, but not sure how to do this).

Any ideas on all this would be welcome,

Many thanks

P.S. I should say that I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

Hi n2009user27:

I can tell you how to change the search, but I don't know if it will improve the text size.

Go to tools on Internet Explorer>manage add-ons.  A screen will pop up showing toolbars and extensions, search providers, accelerators, and tracking protection.

I went through all of the lists and disabled all the ones that I didn't want.  If you click on each entry, it tells you what it does, and there is a button at the bottom of the screen where you can enable, disable, or mark as default.

You can temproarily increase text size by holding down Ctrl button and scrolling the mouse wheel.  I'm not certain if that makes a difference in tool bar text as I have an aversion to toolbars. :smileyhappy:

Thanks delphinium - I'll try that.

The Norton Toolbar text/icon size seems a bit curious though.  I suspect that changing the "screen resolution" might alter it (but I have a 1920x1080 monitor, so going to another resolution might look a bit odd on the screen).  It seems there is a difference between "adjust screen resolution" and "adjust default Windows text size"!
