Norton Tray Icon

Is there a way to delete or turn off the icon in the taskbar next to the clock?

I know you can "hide notification items" but I mean permanent delete or turn off?

Thanks.

Please note: I am unsure yet whether this will disable Norton or just hide the icon.

Right click on the windows task bar, click on properties, Task bar and Start Menu properties window will appear, now click on customize... , now customize notifications window will appear, find the Norton icon click on it and change its behavior.

That will only hide the Norton Icon if it is inactive. Please check/test your solutions prior to posting. Thanks

Actually, under taskbar properties>notification area>customize, you can select whether an icon will be hidden, always show, or hidden when inactive.

This effects the appearance of the notificaiton only and will not impact the program itself.

jcube is correct and that is the process I was referring to in my orginal answer.

There is no way to permanently disable that Icon.

Funbeta

By the way I suggest in NAV/NIS 2010 Public Beta to have a setting to disable the showing of the Norton Tray Icon

If you don't like where it is you can click on it with the mouse and drag it to where you want it ....

A friend of mine has NIS2012 on Win7 64bit, for some reason when she boots her computer the Norton Icon in the Sys Tray area sits between the speaker and network icons, on all the other system I have seen the Icon has gone into the Hidden Icons area, any idea why this would be and what to do about it?
