Norton Trial Expired on a paid subscription?

My mother called me the other day to come have a look at an email problem she has been having.  Since she is using the older Outlook 2000, she ran into a rpoblem with her .pst file being over 2 GB.  After running a scanpst.exe on her Outlook files, I left for the night, only to come back to her Norton being de-activated.  It says, "Trial Expired - To continue using Norton 360, click Activate."

 

Upon doing so, it opens a new window, and a scroll bar appears while it's supposed to be activating the product.  Unfortunately, this window just closes and returns to the main Norton window, where it once again says I need to click Activate.  We have checked the Norton account, and she is subscribed until April 2, 2010.  What could be causing this?  Windows date/time is correctly set at April 21, 2009.  It's currently 12:15am as I write this.
