I have been a Norton client for decades through all the name changes and am particularly invested in Password manager. Recently I succombed to the temptation to use their new function allowing my nearby phone to authorize logging in on my Windows laptop. (BTW all the interactions on Windows were in Chrome browser with Norton extension) . It worked ok several times once I got past the screen saver fingerprint login. Then one day I stumbled and the phone didn't authorize the PC and the login sequence reverted to supply id or login with apple or Google. I must have hit google, because it created a new Norton Account with my gmail credentials. Then when I tried to login to my norton account with my proper email account it automatically assumed I was this newbie with the gmail account and no subscriptions or passwords saved. When I chatted with Norton for hours, they could not understand or were unable to just “delete the account …..”. When I went to the community site I could not login to my account but kept automatically being a newbie with the gmail account. I have been able to avoid these erroneous automatic logins by deleting Chrome cookies, but would still like to kill the gmail linked account. Unfortunately if I login to the gmail account, I get dunned to subscribe although having automatically subscribed for decades. I couldn't get past the subscription process to look around for how to delete the account. To the point: I would still like to kill the gmail linked account.
