Hello- I'm running Win 7 Ultimate x64 on a Dell 1640. I'm a long time Norton user since the DOS days and Norton Commander ... aaaahhh the good old days!
For background info ... I'm also running Norton NIS 2010 with no problems except that Norton Toolbar will not install or run on IE 8 x64. Norton tells me they are aware of this problem. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. The toolbar will run just fine if I start up IE 8 x32 but IE 8 x32 will not execute many types of hyperlinks when running in Win 7 x64. Sigh .... it is always something isn't it?
Back to the Norton Utilities 14.0 problems. I purchased it and downloaded it yesterday. It would not start up. I have since uninstalled it twice and reinstalled it twice with no luck.
When I start it, either from the System Tray or from the Desktop Icon, it tries to start and the yellow Norton Utilities logo screen appears for a second and then I get a pop up screen that says ...
"Norton Utilities 14.0 has stopped working"
Under "Problem Details" it says the following:

I followed the Norton online trouble shooting procedures and tried listing all 4 of the recommended NU startup files in the DEP exception list and rebooted with no luck. Same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks ...
