first of all I just bought Norton Utilities in Europe (Germany). I bought it specifically for Norton Disk Doctor, because I have a HDD with a corrupted file system. When searching for NDD on google, I landed on your US page, where it says NDD is part of "Norton Utilities".
Hence I went and bought "Norton Utilities" from your german site. Unfortunately on neither of your sites I could find any information about specific versions of NU, so I got version 14.5 without NDD. There are adverts for "Norton Antivirus 2011", "Norton 360 4.0" etc. on your pages, but "Norton Utilities" is "Norton Utilities" - no hint for different versions on your shop, product information, faq or support pages. This is really frustrating, because for the features of version 14.5 I would not have spent a cent and your german support had no information about the availability of NU 15 or about any upgrade conditions.
However, now for my actual technical problem:
I downloaded the 30 day trial of NU 15 (NU15.0.0.122RC3_ESD_MUI.exe). I have a HDD with a slightly corrupted file system (that's why I was looking for NDD, chkdsk isn't working).
When I do a scan with NDD, it finds multiple errors and reports that a repair is required. When I start the repair function, it requires a reboot because the corrupted drive is the system drive. After rebooting, the repair starts and the immediately stops again with an error message like "checkdisk logs could not be found. c:\" (translated from german, english message may vary slightly).
Is this a limitation of the trial, or maybe a known error?
OS is Windows 7 Home 64 bit.
