When I run NU15 [in 'Safe' mode], "Recover" => "Restore", I see a list of 20+ recovery points. However, each time I select one and try to restore, NU15 just deletes the point and waits for me to delect another - which it then deletes - ad infinitum.
What's the purpose of having this program? First it deletes all the Windows created Restore points and then will not restore any of its own.
Running Vista32.

I was having problems starting my browser and wanted to go back to my settings of a few days earlier. I eventually found the problem was some malware that had gotten onto my system. I removed that and solved the problem
However I disagree with your assessment of System Restore [the Windows version]. I have used it a couple of times over the yearrs with great success. Symantec should provide a manual for their products so that the customer knows that Disk Doctor wipes out the Windows created Restore points and that, apparently, something needs to be done to get the Norton System Restore to work beyond just creating the points and then trying to use them. So far it appears this product does more damage than the help it alledges to do.
I'm not here to debate the pros and cons of using System Restore, but it is well know here in the Norton Community that System Restore can 'break' Norton Security products.
Here is a manual for NU15
http://us.norton.com/support/nu/15.0/en/Online_Help-Utilities.htm
Thanks for the link - but the 'manual' is really sparse. Says nothing about Disk Doctor wiping out Restore points. Nothing about what to do when the Norton Restore doesn't work. I suspect Disk Doctor also wipes out the Norton Restore points but NU still lists them even if they are no longer there [which is really misleading].
Are you sure System Restore is breaking NU and not vice-versa?
I didn't say NU, I said Norton security products - NIS, NAV, N360 and NSS.
Edit: Clicking on the links located on the left will expand the manual, but you still might not find what you're looking for. FYI, NU16 deletes restore points before you can defrag your system drive.
