Hello,
I'm running NU 16 and NIS 20 (latest version).
Every time after I do a One-Click maintenance, when i try to open Outlook, the Microsoft Installer is evoked and Outlook has to reinstall itself.
Is there a setting I could change in NU to stop this?
Thanks
Hey Ballistic,
This ismost likely used by the Registry scan, or the third party application scanner. Can you please troubleshoot by seeing if registry scan caused the issue.
Step 1. Run Registry scan only.
1. Go to Performance Tab
2. Select Clean Registry
3. Run a complete registry scan
Once steps 1 - 3 have been performed, please check to see if the affection application(s) is no longer work correctly again. If the application(s) DO NOT begin to work again, than this indicates that the registry scan is cause of this issue. Please proceed to step 2.
Step 2: Send NU16 "scan.log":
_____________________________________
1. Start NU16
2. Select "Performance"
3. Select "Clean Your Registry"
4. Select "Complete Registry Scan"
5. Select "Start Scan"
6. At the completion of the scan, DO NOT select "Repair"
7. Select "Settings"
8. Select "Registry"
9. Select "View Log Files"
10. Attach the "Scan.log" text file from the Log・folder to your reply to this e-mail.
Step 3: Reverse NU16 registry changes:
____________________________________________
1. Open NU16
2. Select "Recovery"
3. Select "Restore Registry Backups"
4. Check (select) the most recent entry in "Restore Registry Backups"
5. Select "Restore"
6. Once athe items are restored, please restart your computer and await for further instructions.
As soon as we receive the "Scan.log", we will analyze it and inform you when we have the results.
Cheers,
Skreddy
If Registry scanner is not causing the issue, please try this:
1. Start Norton Utilities.
2. On the Privacy tab, in the left pane, click Plugins.
3. Scroll down and locate Microsoft Outlook in the list of applications.
4. Uncheck Microsoft Outlook and then click Save Choices.

This should skip Microsoft Outlook whenever you clean Document history or run 1-click optimization.
