VPN is very slow once I turn it on on my android device. Usually worse when I try to connect it via Australia. Today I am using the auto-select region and its very slow. I checked my internet speed without the vpn and it is fine. What do I do?
Are you using the VPN feature in Norton 360, or do you have the standalone Norton Secure VPN app? If you have both installed, try uninstalling the standalone app and test again.
Is there a specific reason you need to connect through Australia? If not, try using the Automatic Connect option. That is supposed to check for the best connection from your home location. I'm in Canada and it often connects me to a US server because it feels that will give the best connection.
My device is Galaxy S20 FE 5G, Android version 13.
Internet speed without VPN: 109.6 Mbps download and 95.9 Mbps upload
Internet Speed with VPN: 0.26 Mbps download and 0.04 Mbps upload
This speed drop has been in the last 2 weeks
I am in the US and I usually set my VPN location to Australia. But I realized that irrespective of where I set my VPN location to nowadays, its very slow and very frustrating. Please let me know if there is a solution to this problem. Thanks
What device and Android version are you using?
What speeds are you seeing with and without the VPN active?
Has this speed drop just started happening, or have you just started using Norton's VPN? VPN's by their nature will have some affect on your speeds as they encrypt and decrypt all data as it leaves and returns to your device.
What country are you actually located in? If you can find a virtual location that gives better performance, set that manually to be your location.
