Every time I start/restart, my NORTON VPN starts automatically. I don’t want this. I want to turn it on only when I think it is necessary.
This is disabled in the VPN settings.
I have disabled it (3 times), and that doesn’t work.
Do you mean the app menu window appears or the connection VPN?
So the VPN is not starting. You are seeing a prompt to start the VPN.
Is this a separate popup, or is it displayed inside your VPN app?
Look in the app’s Settings for any auto connect settings and turn those off. Restart your computer and test. Restart, not shutdown and startup again.
I didn’t have this problem until recently, but a few days ago I disabled/enabled some VPN settings unrelated to automatic connection. After that, the menu window started appearing automatically when the system boots up and wakes from sleep.
Check your VPN settings on the VPN preferences tab. Scroll down and be sure to turn off Reconnect after restarting, and test.
