I run Windows 11 Pro, with the latest updates, on my PC. For email, I use Thunderbird Desktop (latest version 128.6.1esr | released January 27, 2025). On Norton 360 Premium (current update), under Secure VPN / Settings and “Enable VPN split tunneling,” I have the following “Excluded apps from VPN:” thunderbird.exe. I, however, must turn off VPN to download new emails on Thunderbird. This is frustrating. How do I keep VPN on and still download emails on Thunderbird? Thank you, if you are able to assist.
I have a similar issue, latest version of Win11, installed update 144.0.1 (64-bit) of Thunderbird today, and I can’t send mails (and get an SMTP timed out error) unless I turn off Norton’s VPN.
Be sure you are using C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\Thunderbird.exe and not just the Thunderbird name that is brought up when trying to set up Split Tunnel? I have set this up and have no issue receiving and sending emails with the VPN turned on.
