I have Norton 360 and Sky Broadband connection via ethernet cable and or wifi. Windows 11 Laptop which is all upto date with all settings. To be able to surf the internet, download emails or do anything that requires use of the Sky wifi/broadband I have to connect my laptop to my mobile phone hotspot first. Open Norton and Connect VPN. Then disconnect mobile data hotspot and connect to either the ethernet Sky broadband or Sky wifi and then I can surf the internet and watch movies and everything. I have disabled the Sky Protect settings.
My mobile phone can and will use the wifi on occasion (I turn off my mobile phone data) connect to wifi and wonload files and surf the internet etc but the laptop and Ipads in the house do not. The TV streaming is also an issue.
Is the laptop you are using connected by ethernet? If so, are you able to connect to the internet without going through the phone? If not, what error messages do your see?
Norton states ‘can’t open vpn’ ‘can’t connect vpn’ therefore I cannot surf the internet as nothing works unless vpn is turned on
Whether connected to WiFi or Ethernet
It’s the same
Check the VPN settings and turn off the Kill Switch setting. From the 360 interface click on Privacy and then click Open on the VPN pillar. Click the Settings tab and scroll down to Use Kill Switch if VPN disconnects.
VPN kill switch is in green with a tick
Sorry do I turn this off or should it be in green
Turn it off and test. What this feature does is cut off your internet access if the VPN loses its connection.
