rather disconcerting to read an article regarding the norton vpn that i am using, which comes with 360 deluxe. any idea relating to the validity of the information contained therein would be appreciated............thanks!
A VPN provider does not have servers located in every city. So unless you live in a major city you are unlikely to see your city listed as your virtual location. The virtual location that shows in the VPN hides your actual location. That is one of the main reasons people use a VPN.
You are welcome.
One thing I just remembered about downloading apps. The Mobile app stores will use your account details to determine which country you are registered in. That is what is used to determine any geographic access to apps. The VPN would not affect the workings of their systems to bypass any geo locks. So you will only be offered apps available to your registered country.
Ah okay, thanks for replying.
As customer service could not guarantee it, the same answer will come from these forums.
Some web sites can detect the use of a VPN and may block access, possibly for legal reasons. If they do, it is not the fault of the VPN. This would hold true for streaming content, or downloading apps.
You can always try the VPN and if it does not suit your needs you can request a refund within 60 days of purchase.
