I have a Linksys BEFSX41 Broadband Firewall Router. Last year sometime I had issues with my internet going down when I was trying to play online on my PS3. At first I thought it was Mediacom. Later I realized it was Norton. I found that Norton was resetting my Router when I used my PS3. I figured out an intrusion signature that it didn’t like disabled the one signature (I can’t recall which one now). Things were fine for a long time. Lately though I’ve been having issues with Mediacom (I’m not blaming them for mother nature striking but I’m just saying it’s been on there end). Recently I went back into my router settings to add an exception for a new program and I found that all my custom settings I had were off (I’m not sure how long they’ve been like that but whatever). So I turned on all my settings again like UPnP and then found that my Router was being killed again when I try to use either my XBOX 360 or my PS3. I’ve swap both systems out in the DMZ port as needed and run them in DMZ mode. Can anyone help me this time? I don’t want to disable Intrusion Prevention. I want Norton to work with my router. Is there a way to tell Norton to never interfere with my router? Oh and my Norton is version 17.6.0.32.
