I noticed a similar thread regarding Norton blocking FTP access. I started reading the long discussion although I never found help woth my problem on the forum at all! In fact it was so much of a mess that I could hardly keep up! I currently have Nortons provided by Xfinity. And I resolved my issue moderately quick! These were the steps I took. 1. Check your local security settings and make sure that there are no restrictions that have any indication of "File sharing" If your firewall is turned up to moderate or high. You might consider making an exception for the exe you are attempting to use. Google "How to make an exception in firewall security" 2. Open your Norton settings. Click firewall settings. 2nd on the list. Go to "Program Rules" and locate your FTP client. Turn it to "Allow" Chances are that it was neither of these things, in fact this last step was what allowed me to connect to my FTP Using Filezilla. 3. Click "Traffic Rules tab" scroll down. Locate "Default Block Windows File Sharing" It will be blocked! Modify this rule and change it to "Allow" DO NOT FORGET TO CLICK APPLY! I hope this helped you! If not you may want to look into the thread that has more in depth solutions. Here in this forum.
