Hi Poradek,

Sorry I have to tell you that the desktop sidebar gadget was dleted with the upgrade to the latest N 360 version.  I use  a Norton system tray icon in lieu of the sidebar.  There were some securtiy concerns in regards to thegadgets stated by Microsoft and Norton folowed suit by deleting the gadget.

BTW, you are still not on the latest N 360 version,  Please run LiveUpdate (rebooting when requested) until such time as LiveUpdate responds "no updates found".  You shouldthen be on version 20.3.0.36.

If you need assistance getting the System Tray Norton Icon (by the system clock), let us know.

The 2013 versions no longer have the gadget because there is a vulnerability in the gadget code that even Microsoft is no longer supporting gadgets.

The best way to have an indication of Norton’s status is to set your Norton icon in the system tray to always be displayed. Click on the arrow to the left of the system tray and click Customize. Then find the Norton icon an set it to Show Icon and Notifications. That way you can see at a glance if there is a green check mark on the icon, your Norton is working and protecting you.

thanks

Hi there,

as you mentioned my version, I've tried to perform LiveUpdate many times already, also I did restart my PC many times...

But system is still on the same version 20.2.1.22.

LiveUpdate says that I'm on the newest version, also when I check the new version manually I get reply from Symantec (http://updatecenter.norton.com) that I have newest version.

Can you help pls?

cheers

Hi poradek,

Open you N 360 and run LiveUpdate (rebooting when reuqested) until such time as LiveUpdate responds with the exact words "no updates found".  At that point go to Support > About and your N 360 version should show 20.3.0.36.

The checkfor new version does not work for an update - it only works for an upgrade.  An upgrade means going from version 19 to version  20 while an update (obtained via LiveUpdate) means going from version 20 .0 to 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 etc.

Hope that expl;ains it andplease let us know if you get to 20.3.0.36.
