Norton WiFi Privacy access to allow me to change country

I recently added the Norton WiFi Privacy element onto my laptop. Although I initially had the settings page at the lower right showing the protected and non protected and country selection and the on/off toggle button, I am completely baffled as to how I can find it again to turn it off. Any pointers.gratefully received. I did contact Norton and set up web chat but halfway thru I couldn't see what was being typed, I could scroll the page to see what was being written. So had to abandon.

Glad I could help.

For future use. If you find an icon in the hidden icons, you can just drag it to the main System Tray.

So sorry for your inconvenience. regards.

No need to apologize. As volunteers, we just pop in and out when we have time.

I found it! When I clicked Show Hidden Icons in the bottom task bar(the one I use to safely eject usb) and 'customize,' it gave me a list with WiFi Privacy in and I just chose show icon and notifications. The now operational icon is available to switch on and off at my leisure. Thank you so much for all your assistance. Looking at your post times you seem to be 6 hours behind me. So sorry for your inconvenience. regards.

If you did not change any installation settings, NWP should be found in the path I posted.

If the tray icon is still there after a system restart, not shutdown and startup again, and is is not responsive, maybe a reinstall is required. Uninstall NWP, restart the computer, then reinstall and test again. AFAIK, your settings will be lost, but there are so few to set that it should not be a problem.

Thankyou for your prompt reply. However, following your instruction, I find there is no Norton WiFi Privacy .exe file to open!!. I do still have the icon in the system tray but right-clicking brings no response. Should I just uninstall this element and in doing so, would I still be left with the settings that I set..i.e. VPN switched on and set to another country? Thanks for you assistance.

Do you still have the Norton Wifi Privacy, NWP, icon still in the system tray? Check the hidden icons by clicking on the up arrow to the left of the system tray.

If you do not have the icon there, you may have exited/shut down NWP. When you do that, you need to restart your computer to see if it comes back.

If you have shut down NWP and restarted the computer and the icon is still missing, you need to restart NWP. In Windows explorer, navigate to    C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton WiFi Privacy\client\Norton Wifi Privacy.exe   Start the app from there and the icon should be visible again.

When you do get the icon back, be sure you have Launch at Startup turned on in the NWP Settings.
