NortonLifeLock VPN features

Since the online help about this new VPN feature of NortonLifeLock does not at all refer to DNS and WebRTC Leaks, I was wondering if this product also supports it.

Checking DNS and WebRTC leaks via various tools, when the VPN has been activated, shows that this VPN does not hide the necessary data.

Also: does this feature also adopt the "we do not keep user logs, EVER" policy?

If the abovementioned is not being supported, then I'd recommend NOT to use this feature.

Many other commercially available VPN services DO support all this.

Have you tested for these leaks? I tried a couple of sites that test for these vulnerabilities, and they found no leaks with the Norton VPN enabled. They showed the VPN server's IP address in the WebRTC detection and the DNS detection.

As JJ_ noted, you may see leaks with IPv6 enabled. Norton is aware of these leaks and is supposed to be working on it.

Fair enough. Let it be "currently not being logged at all" then. And properly communicate to the users if that changes.

Still, it needs to repair the DNS and WebRTC leaks,

that they will "not, never, ever" keep a user log.

No company can say "never, ever" for any feature of their software. The legal/political situation can always change that might require changes to software. If this were the case for VPN logging, it would apply to all VPN providers.

FWIW, please see the following Norton Support Document in reference to user logs Here

Also, some users have reported IPv6 leaks.  If you experience this, you can resolve it by turning IPv6 off in your network settings.

Exactly. And don't forget we need the assurance from Norton, that they will "not, never, ever" keep a user log. Many VPN providers do not keep logs, which is the only safe way to use it. Otherwise we will have a potential privacy issue.

As far as I can tell, this VPN looks like a "quick" addition. They have not been thinking it through properly.

As long as I do not see any conformation of this, from Norton, I would recommend not to use this VPN.

I have the same concerns.  My DNS, IP, and additional info is leaked using this VPN. I can remove the WebRTC from my browsers, which helps, but dose not solve the issues.
