I end up having to delete the VPN on my iPhones and iPad in order to use the internet. Seems it protects me by NOT ALLOWING ME TO LOOK ANYTHING UP. Sucks. The error message is that my browser (safari) is not responding) but it responds just fine without the VPN on the devices.
Please send logs to Norton showing your issue.
Please send logs to Norton to help diagnose your problem.
Start by opening iOS settings on your device and scroll down to the bottom where the apps are listed. Tap on the Norton 360 app and tap to Enable Debug Log.
Now use your device until it causes the issue you are having. In your case, try all options of Web Protection and VPN being on and off so the logs can cover the different scenarios. Then shake your phone back and forth and a prompt will come up to send logs. Tap on Send Error Report and fill in any information requested. In your submission, please include "forum 'your username' " in the Case ID section of the report. Also include a link to this thread.
If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.
It works either way. It seems to be faster with the VPN on and Web Protection off but both ways lets me look stuff up. Just not with both.
So it appears that it is the Web Protection feature that is at issue here. As a further test, are you able to connect to the internet with Web Protection on and VPN off?
It does let me on the internet with the web protection off and vpn on. It then tells me web activity is at risk but I’m not sure how if no one knows where I am. I never use public WiFi.
Thanks.
How are you controlling the VPN? You should only control it from the 360 app.
Are you turning the actual VPN feature on and off when you are testing your connection? One thing to try is to turn off the Web Protection feature off while having the VPN on. See if that helps.
I am using iOS 14.4.2 and the Norton 360
Are you using the standalone Norton Secure VPN or the VPN feature in the Norton 360 iOS app?
What iOS version are you using on your devices?
