I got trial of Internet Security with my MOBO. I installed on Win 8.1 64 bit system on 4-10-15. I went to settings and selected options to protect everything, including - of course - web browser. Norton scanned after install - found nothing. Next day Norton scanned again and found nothing. I re-installed my SpyHunter 4 and it scanned and found 71 threats. It removed them. Today 4-12-15 Norton scanned again and found one Low risk item - don't remember. I ran SpyHunter 4 again today and it found 76 threats.
Oh, this is sort of funny. When I went to install support software, it showed my AVG 2015 Anti-Virus as a conflict! I chose skip and support s/w installed. But support page is worthless if you can't report an issue. All I saw was hundreds of FAQs.
I thought this product was supposed to protect you from all malicious threats - which includes spyware and adware.
They only thing significant the the product did was block someone trying to access my network. But my router has a firewall and my network is using WPA2-PSK so if Norton had not caught it, my router or network security would have blocked the intruder anyway.
I'm running v 21.6.0.32 - an update done yesterday, I believe.
Any thoughts? Is Internet Security really unable to catch and block spyware or adware? Description I read I'm sure said it protected Spware. Don't know about adware.
Thanks in advance for any input. At this point there is no way I would buy the product after the trial expires.
