Not loading at Startup

My Samsung Tab A 8 SM-T290 just had an update to its Android 11 OS. Now Norton 360 doesn't load at startup. I can start it manually and it runs and protects, but this shouldn't be. I can't seem to find anywhere to change the startup apps. Tried Google search but none of the solutions match my OS version. Please help!

That person icon sounds like the shortcut icon that is described in the link I noted in my previous post. Some users that have posted here find that icon interferes with their use and have disabled it.

Your description of what you used to see after startup is not familiar to me. Are you actually turning the device off and then starting up again, or are you just bringing it back out of standby?

If the behaviour of your 360 changed with the OS update, it is possible that something got muddled with the 360 installation. I would suggest uninstalling 360, restarting the device and then reinstall 360 and test to see if you see the behaviour you expect.

No update to 12, stayed on 11. The icon that was there before was in the upper left hand corner next to the malwarebytes, etc icon(s). During the startup, one would appear, then for a moment, another would appear then disappear. I believe the second icon was when it was doing the scan. When I did a swipe down to show the alerting notifications, a Norton message showing the scan results would show in the lower box. Now none of that happens. I did change some of the Accessibility settings for 360 and PWM and now a person icon appears in the lower left corner.

Was your Android device updated from Android 11 to 12?

The app does not have to be loaded/started for the scan to run. That is covered by the Accessibility Service. I believe what you may have been seeing is a Service shortcut icon being displayed. See this post to see if this is what you have been seeing, along with the solution in the following post. That post is about Norton App Lock app, but the information would be the same for the 360 Service.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/annoying-screen-icon-upgrade-android-12

If this is what you have been seeing, it still does not mean the 360 app was being started with the device.

You can check to see if the scans are being run by tapping on the three bars at the top left of the 360 screen, then tap on Settings > Activity Log.

The 360 Accessibility Service is on. Norton 360 does not load on startup. I did update the Accessibility Service app but it made no difference. Before the OS update, Norton 360 loaded every time I started the tablet and then automatically performed a scan. The Norton icon was always in the upper left corner. If I swiped down from the top, a Norton message was there showing the scan results. Those items no longer happen.

There is nothing to actually load at startup. The Norton 360 Accessibility service is what is always running in the background. The interface does not get started when you start the device.

Just check in Android Settings > Accessibility that the 360 service is turned on.
