At the time it concerned NPE version 4.3.5.x not being compatible with computers having SSE only CPUs.  I just downloaded NPE 5.0.0.31 (as part of NAV 21.7.0.11) and it didn't run (crash-error), so, the issue may not have  been fixed.

Can someone confirm that NPE 5.0.0.31 does indeed run okay on SSE only computers.  This is by no means high priority for me, however, fresh off another thread regarding SSE, I just wanted to check on status.  TIA.

I received an update for NPE the other day with my NSBU. Don't know if XP users received it or not.

Thanks.  I downloaded the current NPE v. 5.1.0.9 but no joy.  Still crashed on my two IBM legacy XP Pro Sp3 computer, both having SSE only CPUs.

XP's Event Viewer shows: Faulting application npe.exe, version 5.1.0.9, faulting module npe.exe, version 5.1.0.9, fault address 0x00654480.  So, the way I see it, the SSE issue hasn't been fixed.  And it may never be in spite of an initial 'promise' to do so.

Can't say that I blame Norton for dragging their feet.  However, if they won't do it, correctly, all they have to say is: NPE requires computers with SSE2 or better/higher types CPUs.  End story.
